Photos and documents go to an external disk every night, plus a weekly copy offsite. restic forget --keep-daily 7 --keep-weekly 8 keeps the repository small. Restore tests once a month, otherwise it does not count.

Moved the family photos off the cloud. Thumbnails take a while on the first import, after that the phone app syncs fine over Wi-Fi only.
Local DNS with ad blocking for the whole flat. IPv6 from the provider works, but the prefix changes after every reconnect, so internal names stay on IPv4.
Fans now stay at 30% below 45°C. Disks run a few degrees warmer and the room is finally quiet.
